MFC 2172 with EtherCAT interface
Axetris, Mass Flow Devices
Axetris is all set to add an option of the EtherCAT interface to its high-performance mass flow meters and controllers.
EtherCAT (Ethernet for Control Automation Technology) is a real-time Ethernet network developed by Beckhoff. EtherCAT has gained steadily in popularity in the last years, and has become a leading Ethernet-based communication standard. The main reasons for EtherCAT’s popularity in many industrial applications are:
- Extremely fast communication times with an ability to process up to 1000 distributed I/O signals in 30 µs or 100 axes in 100 µs using twisted pair or fiber optic cables
- EtherCAT being an open standard that allows flexibility and low implementation cost
Axetris mass flow meters and controllers are based on the in-house MEMS flow chip (YouTube video), and have helped OEMs worldwide achieve the highest performance in their applications, whether it be in industrial applications such as thin film processes, or in highly-reproducible analytical instruments.
