Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning


Gas sensors based on various sensing technologies are used extensively in heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Gas sensors are integrated into control loops to achieve an efficient HVAC system control.


Demand-Controlled Ventilation

One of the biggest challenges to design effective HVAC system control is to optimize for actual occupancy. Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV) has become an increasingly important element to achieve this goal. Often, CO2 gas sensors are used to measure occupancy levels in closed environments (homes, office buildings, car cabins, etc.)

NDIR gas sensors deliver a high performance for HVAC and DCV systems, offering key advantages such as sensor stability, low cost-of-ownership, and being potentially calibration-free.
