Infrared Sources Medical
Capnography is the monitoring of the concentration or partial pressure of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the respiratory gases. The CO2 concentration during a single breath is measured in a high temporal resolution to monitor the condition of the lungs. Initially used in hospital surveillance and emergency care, capnography is on the way to becoming popular in home care medicine. The trend to miniaturize such modules showcases the advantages of the Axetris MEMS-based broadband infrared (IR) sources for nondispersive infrared detector (NDIR) gas detection.
Advantages of Axetris Infrared Sources:
- High emission at 4.26μm
- Small size
- Fast electrical modulation (Modulation frequency: >10Hz)
- High modulation depth
- Low power consumption
- Long lifetime
Axetris offers solutions by providing a portfolio of IR sources with several reflectors with or without integrated windows (BaF2, CaF2, GeART100).
