Axetris IR sources are micro-machined, electrically modulated thermal infrared emitters featuring true black body radiation characteristics, low power consumption, high emissivity and a long lifetime. The appropriate design is based on a resistive heating element integrated onto a thin dielectric membrane which is suspended on a micro-machined silicon structure.
The EMIRS50 are packaged in compact TO-46 cans and are available with protective cap or with reflector. They can be fitted with either Sapphire, BaF2 or Si ARC windows. For Mid-, and High volume applications new scaled wafer level tested and SMD packaged EMIRS50 products are under development.

Axetris IR sources are ideally suited for very compact IR gas detection modules like non-dispersive infrared spectroscopy (NDIR), photoacoustic infrared spectroscopy (PAS) and attenuated-total-reflectance FTIR spectroscopy (ATR).
Axetris IR sources have been successfully integrated for many years in various medical, industrial and safety applications. Typical target gases are CO2, refrigerants, hydrocarbons, NOX, alcohol and many more.
